Is it healthy to lose weight after the pregnancy?

Weight lose after the pregnancy may take time but it is healthy if you are doing it in a gradual manner. A healthy diet with daily exercise will help you to lose weight and will also help you to back in shape. Breastfeeding can work as a bonus for weight loss!


From when to start?

Most of the women make mistake by starting crash diet and doing loads of cardio as soon as they recover from postpartum so that they can get back in shape and look attractive again.


Take your time to recover from postpartum at least for 6 week and if you are breast feeding mother wait your baby to get 2 month older so that milk supply normalise so that your baby should get sufficient nutrients from mothers milk


What effects happens to the baby?

The breast feeding mother has to complete the demand of nutrition for herself and for her baby too and on the other hand body need to loose weight too for the future health management and to get into the shape.


Starting Extreme diet too early can cause harm to the mother as well as to the baby as both of them fail to meet the specific demand of nutrition.


How to follow diet?

When you were pregnant, you might have adjusted your eating habits to support your baby's growth and development. After pregnancy, proper nutrition is still important.


  1. Start with gradual calorie deficit diet and healthy eating pattern

  2. Avoid processed food which contain heigh calorie and less nutritious

  3. Decrease the meals intervals and start eating fruits as snack or if you feel to eat something.

  4. Choose whole fruit over fruit juice.

  5. Customise your diet by the health experts if you are suffering from any medical condition or had caesarean delivery.

How to exercise?

If you exercised during pregnancy and had completed vaginal delivery, it's generally safe to begin light exercise within days of delivery.


  1. Start with gradual walking and better if you carry your baby with you.

  2. Start Kegel workout after 3-4 weeks of delivery.

  3. Increase physical activity in your daily life style and avoid seating over longer duration of time.

  4. Don't over push your self

  5. Train yourself under the supervision of qualified coach if you gone through caesarean delivery.
